Feeling fruity?!

Today I will be jumping on the 'Handmade Monday' bandwagon. Started by Wendy at 1st Unique Gifts, it's about sharing what we've been up to, on a Monday! Seemples.

I couldn't let Valentine's Day go past without sharing some love, could I? So, here we go...

The brief? A cake with lots of berries and not much sugar or icing...

Valentine's Day Cake. I've no idea how the recipient reacted, but his secretary didn't know what to do with herself!

This isn't actually a Valentine's gift, but it is going to be sent packaged with lots of love from us country folk to my friend of almost twenty years who I don't see often enough.

Oh, and just to update you on the latest installment of the cakes by post saga, the muffins arrived (fanfare please)... IN PERFECT CONDITION! Muffins by post here I come, hooray!

  1. I WANT THAT CAKE!!! Oh my it looks so yummy!! The heart map is a brilliant idea and looks fab, well done!

  2. Gorgeous, gorgeous cake! Someone is going to really enjoy that!

Love the heart pic too - I love work that incorporates maps!

Thanks for taking part in Handmade Monday again x

  3. I really like that heart map - what a lovely idea! :)

  4. I think the heart map is brilliant, glad you showed it.
As for the cake, you are awful tempting us so much all the time! Looks scrumptious!

  5. The cake looks delicious and the Devon heart pic so pretty

  6. What a yummy looking cake!! Absolutely stunning and I'm sure the recipient loved it :)

I love your Devon picture... looks lovely and very heartfelt too, I'm sure this would prove to be a popular line with people who have moved away from their home towns :)

  7. That cake is amazing, good job it's only a picture as I am on a diet. Liking the heart map, do you live in Devon?

  8. Aw, thanks everyone :-) I'm from Devon but I live over the border now in Somerset.

  9. yum yum yum! Your posts always make me hungry!

  10. Delighted to hear the muffins arrived in PREFECT condition though - Think I have said before if you need a long distance trial to Scotland am MORE than happy to be a willing recipient :-)

Great cake as well ! :-)

Feel free to pop over and read my blog :-) I have virtual custard creams and coffee :-)

  11. Gosh... I do wish I hadn't clicked on this blog.
That cake looks so delicious my mouth is watering and I'm on a diet....
And I love the heart map, it's a lovely idea.
    Regards Sue

  12. from recipient: It was the best cake he ever had:) (apparently), It was heavenly! (and yes, using past tense as it is all gone now!) I managed to taste tiny bit too. Berries were fresh and juicy and with a spoonful of fresh whipped cream It felt like I am getting my sweet tooth back.
I wish i had known you when we were getting married. Our wedding cake was so sickly sweet and we felt like we were punishing our guests forcing them to eat it and the top which we left for our first child christening day is still sitting in the box and everybody is avoiding eating it!

  13. Wow, thanks Anna! So glad he liked it. The secretary was hilarious- she couldn't work out what to do with a delivery he wasn't expecting, then she was worried because he doesn't go into the office very often. I'm glad she managed to work it out in the end!!!

  14. I love reading your blog... but I feel like I've gained a virtual stone every time I do ;)

I always get so bloomin hungry!
